Just a friendly reminder that any artist signed onto Modest Management and Syco records through X-Factor (aka, One Direction and Little Mix):
- aren’t allowed to say anything negative about Simon Cowell, Modest, or Syco records.
- Sign away any and all performance rights to the show.
- Are only given 3 weeks to sign the contracts & and can only consult with 1 of 3 Simon Cowell approved lawyers.
- Only ever see about 7-15% of what they make
- Has to sign with Modest Management in a contract that can last up to 14 years.
- Gives up all rights to choose final album tracks, producers, and single releases.
- Have to give up to 5% of all their earnings to Simon Cowell.
Also keep in mind that all the members of One Direction and Little Mix were between the ages of 16-20 when they signed these contracts. Tell me again how the shitty way they’re marketed is all their fault.
Also Rebecca Ferguson (she was on second place of the xfactor season where 1d was formed) sued them for overworking her.
And Leona Lewis wrote on her twitter “I was threatened if I had pursued my intent, then Syco (the label 1d,lm,5h are signed with) would have publicly announced to have me discharged. “
BASICALLY on thursday at like 12 jack tweeted like 'cant wait to see u guys later at radio1' and i thought i couldnt go bc it would b too early but we found out they wouldnt get there till like 4:30 so me and 2 of my friends ran down to bbc radio 1 and got there and THEY ARRIVED and then we got pics with them they r on my blog under tagged/face and so that was amazing and then i already had tickets to the show and i went and i grabbed jack barakat's arms when he jumped into the crowd
